In
1985, in Brandon, Florida, Jim Mellody dreamed up the idea
of a neighborhood pub where friends and families could gather
to enjoy good food and sports in a comfortable friendly
atmosphere.
Together, with his wife Jeanette, they embellished the Brady
family name to arrive at the unlikely, yet likable name
of Beef 'O' Brady's. Regulars affectionately nicknamed it
"Beef's."
His
love of sports inspired him to offer as many games as possible
to his customers, so he invested in TV's and satellite dishes.
Jim covered the walls with authentic sports memorabilia
he had collected and graced his menu with an Irish Blessing
that symbolized the Irish tradition of happy times. He dressed
his tender chicken wings with a tasty sauce he fashioned
from his own recipe, tirelessly tinkering in the kitchen
until he got it just right.
Today,
there are Beef 'O' Brady's popping up all over the country.
Call it the "Luck of the Irish," with one good
dream and a lot of hard work thrown in.
